The Alsace region
The Alsace region has many advantages : beautiful scenery, rich culture, traditions and authenticity of its renowned gastronomy. Between city, mountains, plains and vineyards, the Alsace landscapes are varied and beautiful in any season (Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter).
The towns of Alsace have many assets. Strasbourg, Selestat, Colmar, Mulhouse are rich in heritage and offer many visits and discoveries. Strasbourg Cathedral is one of the best known. The old cities of Strasbourg and Colmar are also essential. These cities are also very much alive (trade, output, nightlife ...).
The Vosges peaks reach altitudes of 1400m and offer many hiking (walking or biking) excursions. These beautiful Vosges forests offer holidays immersed in nature. In winter, there are a dozen ski resorts offering alpine skiing and cross country skiing.
The plain of Alsace offers an authentic and rustic landscape. It is dotted with numerous villages. It offers guaranteed agricultural traditions (crops, livestock).
The vineyard is one of the prides of the region. Traversed by the Route des Vins d'Alsace, it offers a landscape of hills with many wine villages (Eguisheim, Kaysersberg, Turckheim, Ribeauvillé, Riquewihr etc ...). The prized Alsatian wines are recognized and appreciated : white, red and sparkling wines. Alsace winegrowers have outstanding traditional expertise.
Located near the border with Germany, the region also provides extended visits to neighbouring countries, especially in the area of Freiburg.
The Alsace region is very popular with tourists.
