The campsite is situated on the glacis of the Vauban de Neuf-Brisach fortress (17th century) which was classified as a World Heritage Site by Unesco in 2008.
Going through the doors of Neuf-Brisach, means entering Vauban’s world. The city and its walls provide a remarkable vision of the most accomplished defence system of the 17th century. To fully appreciate the charm of the imposing fortress made of pink Vosges sandstone, you need to go for a discovery walk.
The Vauban campsite camping Vauban benefits from a strategic, quality location. It has 3.5 wooded acres and offers 180 shaded and generous pitches. The municipality is located 17 km from Colmar, 20 km from the Alsatian vineyard and the Wine Route and 40 km from the Vosges Mountains. Its location close to the German border, Freiburg im Brisgau, the Black Forest and Switzerland provides many opportunities for excursions. For your well-being, you are only 20 minutes away from the renowned spa at Bad Krozingen. You can also enjoy the beauty of the setting and the calm in the midst of birds such as woodpeckers, magpies and all the little sparrows. If you’re really lucky you might get to see a couple of pheasants…
The campsite also has a playground, a superb pétanque pitch and two table tennis tables. A small grocery store selling basic necessities and drinks, and a bread dispensary at reception are also available to you.
For the delight of young and old alike, the famous Europapark theme park is only 36 km away. There is also a great area for fishing 400 metres away.
In the spring, a flock of sheep migrates in the fortifications around Neuf-Brisach.
